EMERALD: HOW TO SPORT THE COLOR OF THE SEASON
A vivid verdant with a faint bluish cast: the lush hues of emerald are everywhere this fall and winter. In fact, we loved it so much, that we even named our new collection after it! Not sure how to wear this mesmerizing and royal color? Here’s a little breakdown.
Most often associated with the gorgeous green jewel of the same name, the perception of emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. Six Edges’ new line was named ‘Emerald’ after the precious gemstones. What’s more, Ireland - aka the Emerald Isle - served as a major source of inspiration, with its lush green countryside. The result is a collection of luxurious natural shades and refined fabrics.
A dash of decadent optimism
Emerald green is the most abundant color in nature and is both optimistic and comforting. Symbolically, green is the color of growth, the color of spring, renewal and rebirth. It restores depleted energy and gives us a sense of well-being. We’d say that’s exactly what you need to get you through those gloomy and dark winter days! Appropriate for every occasion, emerald’s classic elegance makes for striking and irresistible men’s formal and every day wear. A lovely pop of green immediately upscales a comfortable, basic knitwear item, giving you the best of both worlds.
Color block ‘til you pop!
This luminous hue swings between blues or greens depending on what you partner it with. Therefore, play around with color blocking to reveal the multifaceted face of emerald green. Combine it with navy, a safe neutral that won’t weigh the vibrancy of the gorgeous green as black would, or opt for chalk: another neutral that has a brightening effect. If you want to break up monochromatism without dipping into an entirely new color family, then spruce, the deeper forest-green shade, will be your best bet.
